hey everyone well thats it for our trip around OZ it was pretty dam insane and i would seriously recommend it, it took us a little over 3 months and is pretty epic way to spend winter. if you are planning the trip make sure you carry plenty of spares, take heaps of water, have the guns loaded and easy to access for when the pigs are on the road. dont forget to put the beers in the fridge at the start of the day and buy heaps of tackle for when you reach exmouth!! hopefully we will have a website up soon of some cool shit we are doing on the south coast

PORT AUGUSTA

we were pretty excited about port augusta after hearing about the 40-50kg kingfish caught in 6 metres of water in front of the warm water outlet from the power station. it was a bad start when the steering snapped on the boat 1km from the ramp, we managed to get it going good enough to just get there and back, we had 2 shots at the big boys mitch hooked one on a stick bait after seeing some surface action but snapped the 50lb braid after a massive run & one grabbed a live squid but the circle hooks didn't set. we saw another boat hook up but drop the fish at the boat after 20mins, spoke to some guys at the ramp said the boated a 30kg model. the boat is out of action now so looks like we will be home a little earlier

THE NULLARBOR

we just travelled across the nullarbor and it was completely different to what we were thinking, not just a boring straight road. it hugs the massive coastal cliffs of the bight most of the way. we seen some camels, dingos, lizards etc... checked out streaky bay surf looked pretty good but not good enough to cancel out the shark factor.

Sorry its been a while since we put a blog up, after the bluff we scored jakes point in kalbarri about 4 foot. got to perth the next day met up with Sarah, Bec & Damien it was good to sleep in a bed for a change and not be freezing cold from the dessert wind all night. met up with Janaya, Toby, Emily, Bec & Ben the next day and had a look around perth and a night out at the casino. We headed down the coast with Janaya & Tobes for 2 nights looking for some waves and ended up surfing smiths reef, north point & Margaret river. WA IS EPIC! waves everywhere and not many people, could be because of the big ass great whites swimming around

we just had an epic 3 days at the bluff we scored it 6 foot 1 day and 4 foot the other days heres a vid of the smaller days gopro was flat on the big day! spewing!

LAST DAY IN EXMOUTH

Spent the last days fishing the inshore reef for a change, had some hot action on the trevally & emperor with plastics, trolled up wahoo & yellowfin, snorkeled with some turtles and sharks, got some sick footage so we will have a vid up soon. were leaving exmouth today turner gave us the heads up that we might score the bluff 10foot plus so were a bit excited and also shitting about that.

FIXED THE CAR, BACK INTO IT

after breaking all the tools we had we finally got the old rusted tow hitch out and put a new one in with a bit of brute force. we were back on the water by 9.30. thought we would try our luck on the bottom feeders see what all the hype was about, we caught a few coral trout, chinaman cod, rankin cod, charlie court & job fish good fun but nothing to big. put the marlin spread out and hit the shelf, there was plenty of bait we both hooked and lost nice yellowfin mitch was down to the last 20m of braid on the spool after a massive fun on at least 12kg of drag. riley boated a nice black marlin est 150kg on a spin reel after a 2 hour fight and got him to the boat just as the sun was setting

BOATS FIXED CARS FUCKED +WE GOT A MARLIN

the boys at karratha fixed the boat in a few hours so we only missed 2 days on the water, fished tuesday arvo and both managed to hook the same black marlin at the same time, greedy little shit we pretty much skimmed him in after some ariels.
we snapped the tow hitch clean off the car winching the boat on, so lucky it happened at the ramp rather than on the highway at 110.
